Our Story

John Riggins, Owner.   John has had a vast array of experience as a young entrepreneur, as well as a master carpenter.  His construction knowledge came at an early age, working alongside his father and grandfather on their rental properties, learning everything from plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.  To take it to the next level, John worked for 2 years as an apprentice framing carpenter, building houses from the ground up.  This was an invaluable experience, the knowledge & craftsmanship gained shows in his work today.  John ventured out into other areas of carpentry as well, including fencing, & finished carpentry.  However, his roots in framing led to the start-up of Holy City Pergolas  and he feels blessed everyday to create an outdoor living space that people can relax and enjoy!

Hannah Riggins, Business Manager.  Hannah came from a family business growing up, then attended college @ The University of Memphis with a BA in Marketing.  Her first career out of college was with New South Construction out of Atlanta, GA.  The knowledge she gained working for a General Contractor came full circle working alongside her husband John.  However, most of Hannah's career (10+ years) was with a Fortune 500 Company, International Paper, headquartered in Memphis, TN.  Her roles included, Supply Planner, Demand Planner, and finally a Master Planner in the coated paperboard division.  Today, Hannah manages all marketing, accounting, and the behind the scene workings of Holy City Pergolas.  She is thankful to take back her roots of growing her own family operated business!
